There are few more breathtaking and beautiful places than the Southern Rocky Mountains of Colorado and this is just the place I'll be taking you- to an extremely remote & peaceful wolf refuge far away from the traffic lights and stress of work known as Mission: Wolf (www.missionwolf.com). You will be provided with all your gear- from North Face Tents to top quality sleeping bags, flashlights, lanterns, Thermarest pads, etc. After traveling from Denver International where you will be picked up in a 4 wheel drive vehicle, we will travel up into the mountains away from civilization. You will awake to the sound of 35 wolves howling near your tent up above 9,000 feet elevation. You will have the option to partake in feeding the wolves, touring the facility and have the opportunity to go where few people have gone- into an enclosure to come face to face with meeting a real wolf. I will be your tour guide and answer any questions you may have whether it pertains to your pet dog or about wild & captive wolves. I will share with you my on going research at Mission: Wolf and give you an incredible once in a life time experience few people can say they have experienced. Your education will include important information on wolf conservation, protection, behavior, pack structure, etc. and how this all can be related back to the domestic dog in your living room. Although Mission: Wolf provides a visitor bathroom & sink, this is adventure is not for the faint of heart. The refuge prides itself on being completely "off the grid" with limited resources. You will be roughing it but will be able to see a facility functioning on solar power, a greenhouse, bio-diesal buliding, etc. If you're in search of adventure, nature, wildlife and the chance to learn and spend time with wolves, this is the trip of a lifetime.
