"There are two main parts to my philosophy with dog behavior. I believe that in having a healthy mind, body and spirit to your animal, there must be two components that feed off one another- training your dog to perform a job and the psychology for them to understand that you are the leader. The one thing that I will never do is train your dog for you or claim to solve your dog's behavior problem by having me work with just the dog. I am one of the few trainers in the world that refuses to take dogs into my facility but instead, takes both dog and owner. The reason for this is the dog is the easy part. You are the one who will receive the primary education and your relationship with your dog is what holds the gel all together. It is 50/50 between man and beast.
People come to me all the time as a last resort. Sometimes I'm on the end of a laundry list of other trainers and behaviorists who have come and gone only to have temporary success solving a problem. Some owners have even gone through ten years of life with no success no matter what they tried to stop the unwanted behavior. In one session, the owners understand that it hasn't been just their dog all along- they have taken on a role that has presented itself to the animal as something it's not familiar with because it comes from a human's emotions and point of view. The very ones who have given their pooch everything in life come to find out that they just weren't speaking the right language. Once you think like a dog but act like a wolf, it's a piece of cake.
I am an interpreter for canines. I know how they think, what's important to them and what makes them feel comfortable and happy- living life problem-free. I also know where dogs are domesticated and where in their heart lives the lure of wild instincts from their ancestors- the wolf. I have broken myself down to live on their level for two years and even reach for techniques so far out of the box, that people sometimes think I'm nuts. The bottom line is this: if you come to me with any type of problem, I will teach you how to solve it. My methods are of a Harvard education in research, reading, observing, learning and applying but I am unconventional and creative in my techniques with your dog's happiness always as my #1 goal. I have learned from not only domestic dogs but feral ones too, horses, wolves, coyotes and experts in many different arenas of canine behavior. I am an experimenter and innovator and that's what always keeps me one step ahead of the dog pack.
In solving severe behavioral problems, I will put together a plan for you from several different areas. We will talk about nutrition, exercise, play, attention, physical issues, the dog's brain, behavior, psychology from human and pet stand points, the use of medication vs. non-medication, training, leadership, rules and controlling environments and resources. Depending on your situation, you will receive unbelievable knowledge into the reason, source and direction we need to initiate to see significant progress to end the unwanted behavior. My success rate is off the charts and my reward is seeing a happy dog and owner live a carefree life. If you are at your wit's end, frustrated, angry or giving up- you've come to the right place and I promise you after one session, you'll leave with a very different attitude. It is never to late, they are never too old or too young and progress starts as soon as you get in touch with me. Before you decide to give your dog away or put him down, give this a try first- you won't be disappointed…"
