Aggression

AggressionAggression is one of Jennifer's specialties. Many of her clients come to her from other dog trainers who are not educated in this field or who will not take the risk in dealing with dogs that bite humans or other animals. She says, bring them on…

Jennifer McCarthy has handled many severe aggression cases- some of the dogs she has handled have been labeled by counties, cities and states as "Dangerous Dogs". Some of these animals have killed other animals or caused severe harm or injury to people. As she will tell you… "A lot of dogs that have aggression issues are not bad dogs- it's a very few who are actually mean. Having an aggressive dog in any form can mean a huge liability for you and your family. There is the risk of being sued, the loss of friends, family and loved ones from coming around your house and the loss of possible blood, severe injuries or death to children, other dogs and injury to yourself. At any level, aggression is a huge problem but it doesn't have to mean in all cases you should have to give your dog away or put them to sleep. Too many dogs each year are euthanized for something that could be easily handled with some training.

It is my duty to educate the public, educate my clients on the misconception of some breeds and dogs that may look aggressive but are actually sweet animals and should be given the same chances as any other breed. It is also my job in handling you and other's safety first while at the same time putting your mind at ease and interpreting why your dog is acting out the way he or she is. Once we figure out that, we can begin the healing process and get a plan of recovery in place. In some cases it can be more complicated but the majority of my clients I've seen for aggression, live a happy life with their former "bullies of the neighborhood". You will be taught responsibility, dog psychology, and the importance of leadership, proper training, behavior modification and whatever else is necessary in solving your case. Too many dogs each year are euthanized for something that could be easily handled with some training and behavior modification.
